Have you seen viral videos of people waiting in Paris to eat that mouth-watering croissant?
Ask the visitor, ‘How long have they been waiting.’
You would hear, in a most casual tone, ‘Oh! Nothing just.. 4 hours.’
Excuse me, Miss? 4 hours? For a CROISSANT? – This is their most humbling reaction whenever someone asks them that. It is common. It’s fine. It’s croissant, yaa. ( I get you, the person standing in line.)
And I also get the hundreds of people standing in line for the Rameshwaram cafe every day.
Their waiting list is bigger than a Birkin. ( I said what I said. :P)
Even the owner has to wait 4+ hours to have her breakfast sometimes, ( since their customers, are their top priority).
Residing in the hearts of Bangalore, this famous cafe was founded by CA Divya Raghvendra Rao and Raghavendra Rao in 2021.
An IIM Ahmedabad graduate and a humble food cart owner with 15+ years of experience in the food industry now have a whopping business of 4.5 crore.
Let’s do a deep dive into how they are what they are.
1- Quality: The quality trumps all in the cafe. The fresh chutneys. Fresh batter and no artificial color are among the strict policies they follow to make sure the customer prefers their quality. They don’t preserve any food for the next day’s usage, using all the batter and making fresh ones for the next day.
2- Staff and delivery: With over 700+ employees and 10 teams across outlets, Empowering their staff and training them is their top priority. Their cafe runs until 2 AM in the morning, dishing out their idllies and dosas for people who crave midnight food.
3- Marketing aspect: According to the founder, they have not paid a single blogger or social media marketer to work on their accounts. It’s all organic, traditional marketing that follows word of mouth. People genuinely love their food and post about it on their handles. It created the hype.
It triggers the common man’s mind about being in FOMO, and the next day they are out to try it. And.. the cycle continues.
Though different aspects play a major role, one of the most important is. They are knowing that traditional marketing and good-quality service/products trump all.
