In today’s topic, we’re going to talk about your inbox and your chats that make you chuckle hard and giggle softly. No, No! We’re not asking you to reveal your private chats—okay, maybe a few; however, it’s all about the medium of communication that’s been happening.
I am talking about the meme posts and ‘ it’s so us coded’ shares that happen.
Fun fact: A 2023 report by Wavemaker showed that 55% of 13-to-35-year-olds send memes every week. Geez! Probably the only common ground between millennials and Gen Z. Bonding over memes. Lol.
Now, about the big weapons, we have seen several big brands leverage memes in their strategies. Netflix, Zomato, MakeMyTrip, Gucci, UberEats, etc. Memes are the easiest way to grab attention and bring traction to your brand. It’s that perfect sweet spot, but if that’s not done correctly or with relatability, it can be a massive flop.
So, let’s understand exactly what meme marketing is.
First, what is a meme? *In school, kids sing-song way* A meme is an online image, text, or video that has humor behind it and is wildly spread over the internet.
What is meme marketing? Meme marketing is increasing your brand’s visibility by participating in ongoing humorous trends without leaving the brand’s voice. It’s a perfect way for marketers to increase brand engagement with the audience in a fun and relatable way that is also low-cost and high-impact.
The increased brand visibility helps in promoting the products and services to new customers instead of traditional advertising on a more personal level.
